Many in the left-leaning media have portrayed transgenderism — illustrated by Bruce Jenner’s recent transformation — as the foremost civil rights issue of our time. On the other side of the aisle, social conservatives largely criticize the overwhelming attention being given to the Olympic gold medalist’s conversion to a woman. In a rare departure, leftist comedian and television host Bill Maher recently voiced an opinion more in line with the latter position.
After a few jokes at the GOP’s expense, Maher opened Friday’s episode of his HBO series Real Time with the following analysis of the ‘Caitlyn’ Jenner saga:
This is a has-been from reality TV who got breast implants, OK? This is someone who used to be Kim Kardashian’s stepfather and is now Kim Kardashian’s stepmother. She’s not Rosa Parks.”
Further cementing his political incorrectness on the subject, Maher referred to Jenner as “he” before graphically told the “pronoun police” what they could do with any complaints.
