While Barack Obama’s knee-jerk reaction to the recent mass shooting in South Carolina was to advocate further restrictions to the Second Amendment, Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson pointed out an inconvenient aspect of the president’s position:
The president has said a number of times guns are the problem, guns cause violence. There’s nobody in the world surrounded by more armed people than President Obama himself.
When a left-leaning Fox & Friends panelist argued it was unfair for Carlson to compare Obama’s safety to that of the general population, he doubled down on his original stance:
The president’s position is that guns cause violence, guns are inherently bad and dangerous, the rest of us need to disarm and not protect ourselves. And he’s exempt from that?
