In an on-air response to the verbal battle between Republicans John McCain and Donald Trump, radio host Rush Limbaugh identified an apparent hypocrisy among many who have derided the latter while giving the former a pass.
Though he acknowledged that he is “no apologist” for the brash presidential candidate, Limbaugh asserted that Trump’s remarks have been taken largely out of context.
He said it one time. He was answering a question, and he said that McCain’s not a hero – captured. And he changed and said four times he is a hero, he is a war hero. ‘McCain is a war hero.’ He said that four times.
Additionally, the host pointed out that there has been no similar excoriation of McCain’s characterization of Trump supporters as “crazies.”
