Upon learning that clandestine negotiations led to Iran’s ability to choose its own nuclear inspectors, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz doubled down on his already vocal opposition to a controversial agreement with the Islamic nation.
The most recent revelation that Iran will be selecting its own inspectors to verify the nature of its nuclear program is made all the more egregious by the fact that … United States taxpayers will be paying for a farce that is a direct threat to their own security.
He made it clear that he is not against the deal simply because Barack Obama supports it:
This is not a partisan issue. It is not about President Obama’s political legacy. It is about the future of our country and that of our allies.
Cruz described the deal as “disastrous” and “catastrophic.”
Lawmakers are set to vote on the deal next month.
