Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump earned even more media attention this week when he had security escort Univision reporter Jorge Ramos from an Iowa press conference.
Ramos subsequently called CNN to explain his position to anchor Chris Cuomo. After asserting that he has “the right to ask a question,” Cuomo pointed out that Trump was in control of the event and Ramos did not wait until he was addressed.
In most cases, he pointed out, a rebuke for such behavior would have come from Ramos’ colleagues:
Usually when you’re not called on to ask a question, the other reporters yell at you.
Cuomo then aired a brief response from Trump, summarizing the candidate’s point:
You wanted to get into a fight with him and you got your fight.
