Despite using a relatively small sample, a recent Zogby poll reveals Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has widespread support among young adults.
After surveying a group of 250 voters between the ages of 18 and 34, pollsters reported Trump had nearly three times the support of his nearest competitor, Jeb Bush. Young men were more likely to favor Trump, though he earned twice the female support of anyone else in the race.
Trump’s support among young adults flies in the face of some critics’ theory that his rhetoric appeals to only one demographic.
Ben Carson also had a strong showing among the Millennials surveyed. While he finished just one point below Bush – and in a statistical tie with Ted Cruz – in the general poll, he secured a second-place finish among women.
