According to reports this week citing sources close to Jeb Bush’s presidential bid, things are getting progressively worse for the struggling candidate.
Staffers were reportedly told they would no longer be getting paid after this Saturday. This revelation, which reportedly came during a recent campaign call, is one of several factors leading conservative blogger Erick Erickson to conclude “the Bush team is out of money” and the “campaign is all but over.”
Furthermore, reports indicate that what was once a nine-figure war chest raised by Bush’s Right to Rise super PAC has now dwindled to less than $15 million.
Another insider reportedly leaked that a sub-third-place finish in South Carolina’s primary would trigger Bush to exit the race.
Erickson has since acknowledged that the Bush campaign has denied money troubles, though he wrote that he stands by his original report.
