According to Mercer County, Ohio, authorities, a homeowner responded to two would-be robbers breaking into his home by pulling out his firearm and detaining the two suspects while he called police.
The early-morning encounter involved 34-year-old James Baker and an accomplice, according to police reports. An unnamed homeowner reportedly called police dispatchers to inform them that he had both suspects at gunpoint.
By the time authorities arrived, one man had escaped. Police arrested Baker at the scene, where they also reportedly discovered a variety of suspected controlled substances and paraphernalia.
Authorities also seized a vehicle at the scene and are looking for the second suspect. As of the latest reports available, Baker remained in jail with bond set at $125,000.
