N.C. Lt. Gov. Dan Forest denounces Loretta Lynch’s ‘shameful’ rhetoric against bathroom law

In a Fox News Channel interview on Tuesday, North Carolina Lt. Gov. Dan Forest went on the offensive after U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s recent rhetoric against the state’s controversial new law regarding transgender restrooms.

“I think it’s shameful that you would take the protection of women and children in bathrooms,” Forest said of the state law requiring men and women to use the facilities of their birth gender, “something that human decency has ruled for decades in this country and all of a sudden equate that to Jim Crow laws in the South.”

He called Lynch’s address earlier this week “a shameful attempt to say that North Carolina is discriminating against somebody when that isn’t the case at all.”
