Actress Kelly McGillis shared a personal note of thanks to her Facebook page recently, recognizing those who have sent their thoughts after a harrowing experience.
At her Henderson County, N.C., home at the time of the incident, she recalled hearing a woman break into her garage window into a home she assumed was safe and secure. Though there was reportedly a physical altercation between the two women, McGillis confirmed she is “a bit shook up and struggling with some residual fear” but otherwise OK.
“I do have an alarm,” she wrote. “I was complacent and didn’t set it after living her four years and having nothing happen.”
Known for starring roles in ‘Witness’ and ‘Top Gun,’ McGillis explained that, in addition to setting her alarm from now on, she has another plan to keep her home secure.
“I have decided to get a conceal and carry permit,” she concluded.
