Maher to Democrats: ‘Ease up on the identity politics’

In a recent CNN interview, left-leaning HBO host Bill Maher shared some advice for Democrats. His remarks to Jake Tapper came on the heels of comments by Hillary Clinton regarding the causes of her loss to Donald Trump in November’s presidential election.

When Tapper asked what the Democrat Party could do to win over Trump voters, Maher first piece of advice was “ease up on the identity politics.”

Suggesting many whites in America felt like minorities in the months leading up to Election Day, he said Democrats going forward should “make it look like you represent everybody, including the majority.”

He wrapped up his response with a characteristic jab at the politically correct left.

“They obsess about things like Halloween costumes and the name of the Washington Redskins,” Maher said. “And there’s millions of people in this country who are saying, ‘How about a little bit more of I’m going to get your job back?'”
