In the wake of a prominent Second Amendment advocate’s shooting death this week, CNN’s Jake Tapper posted a tweet calling the loss “horrible” and offering condolences for Bob Owens’ loved ones.
Owens, who edited the website Bearing Arms, was found dead Monday, leaving behind a wife and two young daughters.
In response to Tapper’s tweet, a number of Owens’ critics shared their joy over his death. The anchor shot back with a couple of his own posts.
“I didn’t like everything he said or did,” Tapper wrote to one user, “but he is now dead and he left behind a wife and children. Go find some humanity.”
In a follow-up tweet, he wrote that it is “sickening” to see “a lot of liberals dancing on the grave of a conservative.”
