Pilots were forced to make an unexpected landing in Montana after the toilets on board malfunctioned during a direct flight from New York City to Seattle.

According to reports, Delta confirmed the facilities were “full and passengers needed to ‘go really bad.'”

When the flight diverted hundreds of miles out outside of its flight path to Logan International Airport in Billings, however, those aboard the jet received even more bad news.

Since there was no open gate, the plane was relegated to a cargo hold where increasingly uncomfortable passengers disembarked via a rolling set of stairs.

Officials at the airport indicated the plane was refueled and its lavatories repaired while passengers made use of the facilities inside.
